Summer French Farmhouse Table

As the summer slowly moves on we often need a refresh on our kitchen breakfast or dinner table. When planning our summer collection this year I knew by July we would need some inspiration during our hot and humid summer days.  What could be more inspiring than a trip to the south of France. Our French farmhouse collection reminds me of the rural French countryside and is a combination of cool blues and whites along with pops of summery yellows and reds. 

Blue and white is such a great neutral. It mixes well with other accents on your table and is season less. Here we have used our cottage floral collection of salad and dinner plates atop of quilted blue and white linen placemats and table runner, which are accentuated with pops of sunny yellow.  These are reversible so it’s a great space and budget saver. 

Here you can see the mainly blue side of the placemat (and runner) above, which would be great for August and back to school feel and then the other side with a white background with blue scrolls accented with yellow and blue blocking patterns. 

To add to the farmhouse feeling we have added our farmhouse chicken and flowers coffee mugs ~trimmed with a red stripe at the top of the mug, along with a black red and white chicken and rooster couple and cherry yellow and white daisies ~these are a fun way to start your summer morning!  

The country charm of the blue jacquard rooster towels we use here as napkins making a wonderful addition to our table and can then double as a refresh to your kitchen linens that you will enjoy year round.

The King of the table is our stunning wood and metal multi colored rooster.  Standing at 18x14x7 he would be terrific on a kitchen island, bakers rack or foyer table.  Grab a bunch of sunflowers from the farmers market or grocery store and add them with him for a lovely vignette.
